The Taimen Folding Kayak

Made by a military plant in Moscow, Russia and named after a large, Mongolian fighting fish, the Taimen folding kayak is an ideal watercraft for the outdoor warrior.  It is a true touring kayak for all kind of trips, including long-haul expeditions.  More than a million kayaks manufactured and sold in course of 30 years in Russia and still is #1 Seller.

 Frame: All parts are made from high strength duraluminium (an alloy of aluminium, copper, magnesium and manganese), which makes it extremely durable and light.

Skin: Skin comes in two options.

Standard option includes a skin with a hull made of durable impregnated rubber fabric, reinforced with thick rubber stripes on bow and stern. Deck is made of canvas, stitched and glued to the hull. It is sensitive to UV rays on open storage. Great for flat water trips.

PVC option offers high durability skin with less weight, ease of care. PVC skin is UV and weather conditions resistant. It comes in various colour combinations, subject to availability. Great look. Hull is reinforced with protective stripes along keel bars and gunwales. Suitable for whitewater trips up to Category III. Sold separately or in a package.

The TAIMEN folding kayak has a one-year limited warranty against manufacturer’s defects effective from the date of purchase by the original owner.  All parts are covered by this warranty, including framework and skin.  This warranty is not transferable and does not apply to owner modifications.
